We help to protect your own
Internet security is just like home security. You think about the risks and decide what you want to do about them. This site intention is to give you information about risks first of all and ways to meet them. Unfortunately, there is no way, yet, to get insurance against hackers taking over your PC (just like insurance against common burglary). You have to think about the risks and decide what to do yourself.

Various security Products Reviews

Personal Firewalls.

Personal Firewalls are designed to protect standalone computers or small small office local area networks (LANs) from intrusions. There are quite a few products around. Some of them are free for non-commercial use. You can find my opinion here.

Finding the right firewall in "Security Focus" magazine from 08 December 2003

Windows 2003 Server compatible firewall (and quite alot of other features), free for 5 user license.

APC Magazine review is very recent review nine major personal firewalls.

PC Magazine has recent review on not_free_for_home_use personal firewalls.

By the way - compare these two reviews - Australian PC Mag and PC Mag.

Home PC Firewall Guide is very good source of information to base your decision on which personal firewall do you need. This brilliant site has a lot of information on all sorts of security software.

Shield IP! contains very good explanation what Personal Firewall should be able to do and how it protects your computer.

Antivirus Software.

Antivirus software is the most common and the most important section of your defence. Good antivirus software will protect you from many different dangers not directly related to virus activities. My personal choice and reasons behind it you can find on Review page.

Don't forget that whatever antivirus product was capable of protecting you from just yesterday, it is obsolete without this morning update.

Virus Bulletin is home of Independent Antivirus Advice. It reviews antivirus products regularly and let you check which product on this overcrowded market really does the job today and how it fared for the last few years. You would be amazed if you compare real results (how product does what it is bough for) of so called market leader and so called underdogs (I would recommend to compare my favorite Norman Virus Control with whatever you consider to be the market leaders).

Review Centre, CNET and others are not as good as VB (in my opinion) but contains some relevant information.

Privacy Protection, Spyware.

Some software is spying on you. Your personal information (like your e-mail address - ever wondered how spammers got you e-mail?), postal address and even information about your browsing habits can be collected and sold to online marketers. My choice you can find here.

SpywareInfo is a good source of information on what is going on the war for our Privacy.

ZDNET Australia review - good review of the two most popular spyware stoppers.
